DEFENDING pee wee football champion Leonora Primary on Saturday showed their strongest indicator of a successful defence of their title as they rubbish St Gabriel Primary 5-1 to maintain their unbeaten record.
Johnathan Melvin was prolific for his side, registering a hat-trick of goals.
Melvin hit the back of the net in the first minute of the contest before St Gabriel Primary’s Nathan Melville equalized immediately afterwards.
Melvin was not done returning to secure goals in the 2nd and 7th minutes to give his side an unassailable advantage of 3-1.
Gaols also followed off the boots of Neron Persaud and Elyon Hyman to complete the victory.
Belladrum Primary also recorded an enterprising 3-1 victory over Soesdyke Primary.
Belladrum Primary’s Dextroy Thomas also scored a triple in a one-sided performance; his first goal came in the 5th minute, before goals in the 29th and 34th minutes.
Soesdyke Primary consolation goal came from Judon De Jesus in 32′.
Georgetown International Academy also stopped St Aloysius Primary 2-nil; GIA’s scorers were Langdon Paulson and Esa Mirza, who scored within minutes of each other.
GIA, playing their second contest, beat Marian Academy 1-nil, with Yoseph Rivers scoring the lone goal.
In other results, Miles Schuman’s goal guided Pakuri primarily to a narrow win over Agatash Primary 1-nil.
Agatash Primary bounced back later in the day to record a win over Goed Fortuin Primary.
Colaaco was also edged by St John the Baptist 2-1 with goals off the cleat of Elianna Grant and Chrystian Haly.
Pakuri Primary also lost to Redeemer Primary 1-nil, while West Ruimveldt edged FE Pollard Primary 2-1 with strikes from Kenneth Douglas and Jamiel Favourite.
