TOP cyclist Jamual John claimed the win in the first Alonzo Greaves Memorial Cycling Classic, which was staged on the inner circuit of the National Park on Saturday.

John showed his strength and speed to outdo the likes of Alexander Leung, Alex Mendes, Aaron Newton, and Ajani Cutting, who finished in that order.

He finished with overall wins in the elite and open categories on a sun-baked national park road.

In the elite race, he had to contend with stiff challenges from Aaron Newton and Paul DeNobrega. Earlier in the race
Newton and DeNobrega took second and third places in the elite race as John maintained his top spot to take the win.

The Juniors title was captured by Alexander Leung, who was pipped by Tristan Jaichan and Kevon Stephens.

The women’s category was won by Tandeia Noel, who outlasted Alicia Benjamin and Rebecca Damon.

The Masters 35 and older was clinched by Roy Mangru ahead of Robin Persaud and Segun Hubbard.

The Masters over 50 event saw Mark Spencer emerge victorious with Ray Haliquin second and Deon David third.

Category four was won by Tyrone Hamilton.

The children’s BMX winners were Cadeem Bascom and Arianna Johnson for the U8 winner; the 9-12 winners were Delisa Luke and Josiah Hoyte; and the BMX 13-15 winners were Joshua Holder and Shaniah Johnson.
