Patrick Prashad takes NTFGL Tour #2 crown in PromoTech, Danny’s Auto Sales final

 

UNDER bright sunshine and against a backdrop of lush greens and manicured fairways, Patrick Prashad produced a commanding performance to capture the National Turf Golf League (NTFGL) Tour #2 title when the competition concluded on Sunday.

The finale, sponsored by PromoTech and Danny’s Auto Sales, provided an exciting conclusion to the tour, with golfers battling for valuable points as the competition went down to the wire. The course was in excellent condition, setting the stage for a day of quality golf, close finishes and spirited competition among the players.

Prashad was the man of the moment, carding an impressive net 67 to secure first place on the day and collect eight points. His performance also saw him finish at the top of the overall Tour #2 standings with 24 points, earning him the championship title.

Arnold Deo, returning to action, made an immediate impact with a solid net 69 to secure second place and five points. Deo also captured the front nine, earning two points for his effort.

The battle for the remaining positions was closely contested. Pantanjilee Persaud secured third place and three points, while Ian Gouveia finished fourth after winning the back-nine tiebreaker, earning four points.

Anand Persaud completed the top five and collected one point after winning a tiebreaker against Joseph Szeplaki. Both players finished with a net 74, but Szeplaki was unable to hold his position after a difficult finish on the 18th hole, where he carded a seven.

When the final scores were tallied, Prashad emerged as the clear winner of Tour #2 with 24 points. Per Persaud finished second overall with 22 points, followed by Anand Persaud on 19 points. Danny secured fourth place with 18 points, while Pops rounded out the top five with 17 points.

A total of 16 players received points during the tour, reflecting the competitive nature of the series and the strong participation throughout the competition.

There was also a club tournament held on Saturday, this saw Patrick Prashad claiming first place with a Net of 67 and Best Gross 79. Arnold Deo and Ian Gouveia copped second and third place respectively with Net scores of 69 and 73. Arnold Deo bagged the longest drive while Mahin Harry took the prize of nearest to pin.

The NTFGL expressed sincere appreciation to PromoTech and Danny’s Auto Sales for their sponsorship and continued support of the event. Their contribution helped make the finale a successful one, as players enjoyed a competitive day of golf in an atmosphere filled with excitement, camaraderie and sportsmanship.

With the final round completed and the standings settled, it was Patrick Prashad who had the last word, finishing the Tour #2 campaign at the summit and walking away as the NTFGL champion.
