THE fusion of grassroots fervour and broadcast fanfare that defines the Lotto/Let’sBet One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast will maintain one of its trademark soundbites in Season IV, as Montra Restaurant and Lounge renewed its partnership with the tournament.
The deal ensures the iconic ‘Montra Maximums’ commentary tag will once again anchor the live-stream coverage as big hitters clear the ropes across Guyana.
Montra’s involvement with the tournament runs deep, though their footprint looks slightly different this year.
Having entered as a team owner under the Jaguars banner in Seasons II and III —a run that saw them finish national runners-up in 2024 before capturing the Berbice zone title in 2025—the entity is not fielding a side for the fourth season.
However, lead director Kumar Sarran’s commitment to grassroots development ensured the brand remained firmly attached to the competition as a commercial partner.
During a recent ceremonial handover, Dinesh Bissessar, who managed the Jaguars during their successful campaigns, lauded the tournament’s trajectory and its impact on the local scene.
“This tournament has given tapeball cricket the structure, visibility, and prestige it long deserved in Guyana,” Bissessar said.
“Even though we aren’t taking the field as a team this season, staying involved was essential for us. Having experienced the high level of competition firsthand—from reaching the finals in 2024 to winning in Berbice last year—we know the positive impact this platform has on players and communities.”
Speaking on behalf of tournament organisers FL Sport, Akeem Greene expressed appreciation for a corporate entity that has essentially grown alongside the league.
“Montra has become truly synonymous with the One Guyana T10 Blast,” Greene noted. “When fans tune into the broadcast and hear ‘Montra Maximums,’ it represents a genuine partnership built on supporting local talent.
We are deeply grateful for Kumar Sarran and his team’s continued faith in our vision, and we look forward to building on this relationship in the years to come.”
On the field, the fourth edition of the tournament has already produced compelling action, with three regional champions officially crowned.
Grillmaster Sip N Play All-Stars secured the Berbice zone title, Mahdia – Movements Family dominated the East Bank/West Demerara zone, and Lusignan Bulls DTP II claimed victory in Essequibo.
The tournament now turns its attention to the Georgetown/East Coast Demerara Zone, slated to run across two weekends on September 26–27 and October 3–4, with the zonal finals taking place at the Enmore Community Centre Ground.
Once the final zonal winner is determined, the action shifts to Essequibo for the grand finale.
All roads lead to the Anna Regina National Stadium on Sunday, October 11, where the nation’s premier tapeball outfits will collide for the top cash prizes of $2 million, $1 million, and $500,000.
