CAC bodybuilding Championship 2026

THE country’s bodybuilding athletes for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Championships landed in Guatemala yesterday morning.

The team includes Melitha Anderson (Bikini Wellness), Sabita Stephenson Bikini, Jonathan Jeffrey (Physique), Rawle Greene-Masters Bodybuilding, and Bodybuilding and Classic Bodybuilding.

They are joined by Videsh Sookram acting as GBBFF President, Nathan Wilburg as Treasurer, and Fizal Baccus as Coach.

Videsh Sookram says that they had to take a smaller contingent from the original 10 athletes, but the expectation is no less.

“We had a drop in the size of the team because of visa issues, but what we did is that we re-routed the ones that didn’t come to CAC to a competition in Colombia. What we are expecting from this team, it is a smaller bunch but we are expecting nothing less than gold medals, all gold medals, and pro cards.”

Sookram says the athletes that missed out will now focus on competing and representing Guyana in October at another regional bodybuilding championship in Colombia.

He said after landing in Guatemala on Friday, they have been able to settle down and focus on the task at hand.

“We had a warm welcome, everything is moving smoothly, and the athletes are ready. They are more relaxed because we got in early and had sufficient rest before competition.”

At the 2025 CAC championship held in St. Lucia, Guyana captured 12 medals, with gold medals from Lindon Burnett, Rawle Greene, and Romelton Siland.

The bodybuilding contingent is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports; Zoon Logistics; and Fitness Express.
