BYGEVAL Secondary School has recorded a historic 100 per cent pass rate in Mathematics at the 2026 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations, marking a major achievement for the East Coast Demerara institution and its Grade 10 students.
The school announced the achievement on Tuesday as students, teachers, parents and communities across Guyana celebrated the release of the 2026 CSEC results.
In a statement shared on its Facebook page, Bygeval Secondary said it was “bursting with pride” over the performance of its students, describing the results as a historic milestone in the school’s history.
“Our students have written their names into the history of Bygeval Secondary School by achieving a remarkable 100 per cent pass rate in the 2026 CSEC examination,” the school said.
It attributed the performance to the determination, discipline and commitment demonstrated by the students, noting that the achievement showed what could be accomplished when preparation was matched with opportunity.
The school also commended its teachers for their dedication, guidance and additional effort in preparing students for the examinations.
“Thank you for your commitment, guidance, extra effort and unwavering support in preparing our students for success. This achievement is also a reflection of your dedication,” the school said.
Parents and guardians were also recognised for supporting the students throughout their CSEC journey.
The Mathematics achievement comes alongside strong individual performances, with the school recently highlighting 14 of its top achievers.
Lashon Samuels emerged as the leading performer with 17 passes, followed by Nalie Dookie with 16 passes. Samira Waheed secured 14 passes, while Leanna Rodney and Bibi Saleima Rai each recorded 13.
Darshanie Persaud earned 11 passes, while Bipasha Ramlakhan, Umadevi Persaud, Nathan Harmon, Shawn Nobrega, Priyanka Singh, Dessean Prince, Sarita Ramsarup and Kevon Wilson each recorded 10 passes.
The school said the results represented more than examination scores, describing the 100 per cent Mathematics pass rate as “a historic milestone and another proud chapter in our school’s story.”
The achievement adds to a broader national celebration as students, teachers and schools across Guyana assess their performances in this year’s CSEC examinations.
