TWO miners were, on Monday, charged with robbery under arms and remanded to prison after appearing at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
Rondel Richardson, 29, of Craig Village, East Bank Demerara, and Ronald Barker, 49, of South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, were jointly charged under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
The men were arrested on Thursday, August 13, and were subsequently charged on Monday, August 17.

They appeared before Magistrate Caressa Henry at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to them. Both men pleaded not guilty.
Bail was refused and the two were remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned to September 23, when it is expected to continue.
