A NEW prefabricated culvert is being installed along Burnham Drive in Wismar, Linden, as part of ongoing infrastructural upgrades across Region Ten.
The works are to improve drainage in the community while strengthening a key transport link used by residents and motorists.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, the existing culvert is being replaced with high-quality prefabricated components designed to improve the structure’s durability, resilience and long-term performance.
The ministry said the project forms part of a broader programme to modernise transport infrastructure in Linden, improve road safety and support more efficient movement for commuters and businesses.
The upgraded crossing is also expected to enhance drainage and reduce the risk of flooding in the surrounding area.
Construction is ongoing, and members of the public using the Burnham Drive corridor are advised to exercise caution while travelling through the area.
The ministry is urging residents, commuters and motorists to follow temporary traffic management measures, obey warning signs and remain alert as heavy equipment and construction crews continue work. [DPI]
