While GCC elite women were led by a hat trick from Abosaide Cadogan as they thrashed Hikers for the women’s crown.
When storied local hockey side Old Fort top form and Pepsi Hikers locked horns, it’s tough battle.

Pepsi Hikers, came out of the blocks hard to record back-to-back goals, Shane Samuels first cooked up something special to get them off the mark in the 5th minute of play.
Skipper Robert France also showed his class to make it 2-nil in the 28th minute.
However, Old Fort Top Form, with a strong core of young men, started to get into their stride in the third quarter as the Hikers, who have been one of the nation’s most successful teams, started to show signs of wariness.
Old Fort pushed hard, and the momentum shifted as they put the pressure on Pepsi Hiker.
The pressure bore fruit as they got a penalty corner, which they converted in the 36th minute for their first goal.
Old Fort had a brutal onslaught on Hikers goal, but Hiker’s goalkeeper Christian Sumeer was awesome to make some brilliant stoppages.
He had several scrumptious saves to keep Old Fort at bay before Samuels returned to make it 3-1, with Trumaine Cole going on to make it 4-1.
Old Fort’s Nkosi Sauls scored in the final minutes of the fourth period, but it was a little too late as the Hikers held on for the 4-2 victory.
Pepsi Hiker Jamarj Assanah was awarded tournament MVP, with Hiker’s goalkeeper Sumeer taking the best goalkeeper award.
In the women’s finals, GCC elite were leaps above their counterpart as they stopped hikers 9-1.
Rebecca Ferreira and Alana Chung scored to get the ball rolling with a pair of goals. Maria Munroe then got Hikers onto the score sheet in the 19th minute.
However, that was the last intervention from Hikers; Abosaide Cadogan went on to record a hat trick with doubles from Chung and Ferreira as they ended the clash 9-1 winners.
The women’s category MVP was Carolyn Deane, with Kendra Gordon getting the nod as the best goalkeeper.
