GUYANA’S commitment to addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges was highlighted at the 2026 Ambassadors Conference in Rajasthan, India, where High Commissioner to India, Dharamkumar Seeraj, joined fellow diplomats in discussions on climate change, food security, global trade and international co-operation.
Held at the Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan, the conference brought together members of the Diplomatic Corps to examine a range of interconnected global issues shaping the international landscape. Discussions focused on climate change, food insecurity, public health challenges, disruptions in global trade and supply chains, and the evolving dynamics of international relations.
Addressing the gathering, High Commissioner Seeraj emphasised that nations are increasingly facing challenges that transcend borders and require collaborative solutions.
He noted that climate change, food insecurity, public health crises and disruptions to global supply chains continue to influence political stability, economic development and international partnerships around the world.
The Guyanese diplomat also underscored Guyana’s growing role in advancing global discussions on climate action, food production and energy security. He highlighted the country’s efforts to promote sustainable development while supporting international initiatives aimed at building resilience and strengthening co-operation among developing nations.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of South-South co-operation, which Seeraj described as a key mechanism for fostering innovation, sharing expertise and addressing common development challenges among countries of the Global South.
The conference served as a platform for dialogue not only among diplomats but also with representatives of India’s business community, facilitating discussions on trade, investment opportunities and economic partnerships.
Participants also engaged in a Satsang session led by renowned spiritual leader Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, which focused on values-based leadership and personal development.
The Ambassadors Conference forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic engagement and encourage greater international co-operation in addressing complex global issues, while fostering partnerships among governments, businesses and civil society organisations.
