DOZENS of Golden Fleece, Essequibo Coast residents on Saturday accessed free health services during a medical outreach held at the Golden Fleece Mandir.

From early morning, residents gathered at the venue seeking medical attention, screenings, and consultations. The outreach provided an opportunity for persons, especially the elderly and vulnerable, to receive important health-care services free of cost.

Among the services offered were blood tests, eye examinations, and spectacles for persons in need. Many residents expressed appreciation that several of the tests were done on the spot, allowing them to receive immediate attention and guidance from healthcare professionals.

Persons who arrived with vouchers were able to easily access the services, while those without vouchers were also accommodated and provided with assistance at the outreach. This ensured that no resident was turned away and everyone had the opportunity to benefit from the initiative.

Residents described the outreach as timely and beneficial, noting that many persons often face challenges travelling long distances or paying private costs for medical services. The availability of free blood testing and spectacles brought much relief to families within the community.

Health-care workers and volunteers worked throughout the day to ensure residents were attended to in a smooth and organised manner. Many persons left satisfied and grateful for the government’s continued efforts to bring health-care services directly to communities across Region Two.

The outreach formed part of the government’s ongoing commitment to improving health-care access and ensuring that citizens, regardless of their circumstances, can receive the medical care they need.
