PRESIDENT Dr Irfaan Ali was, on Sunday evening, conferred with the Visionary Leadership Award by the Bilateral Chamber in Houston, Texas, in recognition of his steadfast leadership and transformative vision for Guyana’s economic development.
The accolade, according to information from the Office of the President, highlights his role in advancing responsible energy growth, deepening regional partnerships, and steering policies aimed at long-term, sustainable national progress at a time when Guyana is assuming greater prominence on the global energy stage.
The ceremony was held in Houston on the sidelines of the 2026 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), where President Ali delivered the historic opening keynote address as Guyana takes centre stage at the major offshore energy forum.
Organisers noted that the honour paid to the Guyanese Head of State reflects the confidence of international partners in Guyana’s trajectory as a rapidly growing energy producer, committed to balancing oil and gas development with climate resilience and wider economic diversification.
