Guyana’s exceptional leadership in advancing its position as a leading global energy economy and premier destination for investment, under the stewardship of His Excellency, President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, was today recognised at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) 2026, being held in Houston, Texas, OTC.

Honourable Peter R. Ramsaroop, Member of Parliament and Guyana’s Chief Investment Officer, Office of the President, proudly accepted the international award on behalf of the Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

The award also acknowledges the instrumental role of the Guyana Office for Investment and the Honorary Consul General in strengthening global investment outreach and forging strategic international partnerships.

During the presentation of the award, Guyana was lauded for its rapid transformation over the past six years into one of the world’s most compelling investment frontiers. This progress has been driven by strong policy direction and a clear national vision, attracting major international energy companies such as ExxonMobil and Chevron, alongside leading service providers including SLB.

With over 11 billion barrels of discovered oil resources and production steadily advancing toward one million barrels per day, Guyana continues to distinguish itself as a high-growth economy with expansive opportunities across energy, infrastructure, and emerging non-oil sectors.

The recognition further highlights Guyana’s growing prominence on the global stage, including its strong presence at platforms such as OTC, where it continues to engage new investors and deepen partnerships within a dynamic and rapidly evolving market. [ Guyana Office for Investment release]
