SCORES of residents along the Corentyne are accessing housing services closer to home as the Central Housing and Planning Authority hosts another outreach aimed at improving access and reducing travel costs in Region Six.
The activity, organised under the Ministry of Housing is currently being held at the Classic International Hotel, where Regional Housing Officer Diyaiyyih Dwarka and her team are assisting residents with a range of services.
These include processing housing applications, issuing ownership documents, facilitating payments, and addressing general housing-related concerns.
Officials said the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to decentralise services and make them more accessible to residents across Corentyne and surrounding communities. By bringing services directly to residents, the outreach eliminates the need for travel to the regional office in New Amsterdam, saving both time and transportation costs.
The Ministry noted that the outreaches are conducted on a monthly basis as part of a broader push to enhance service delivery and improve efficiency in housing administration across Region Six.
Residents have been encouraged to take advantage of the initiative, which forms part of the government’s wider housing drive aimed at streamlining processes and expanding access to home ownership services nationwide.
