DIVISIONAL Commander, Assistant Commissioner Khali Pareshram, has carried out a series of inspections across police stations along the East Coast of Demerara, emphasising discipline, professionalism, and improved service delivery as key priorities within Regional Division 4 ‘C’.
The inspections, conducted on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, saw the division commander visit stations at Mahaica, Cane Grove, and Annandale as part of his scheduled quarterly review of operations within the Guyana Police Force.

According to police, the exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to assess the performance and readiness of ranks across the division, which falls under one of the busiest policing corridors in Guyana.
The East Coast Demerara region has seen increasing population growth and commercial activity in recent years, placing added demands on law enforcement services.
The inspection exercise began earlier in the week with visits to the Martyr’s Ville and Mon Repos outposts, before extending to the larger stations. During the engagements, Assistant Commissioner Pareshram examined several key areas, including the turnout and bearing of ranks, record management practices, and the overall cleanliness and maintenance of station compounds.
Police officials said the inspections are intended not only to identify gaps but also to reinforce standards across the division. In addressing ranks, the commander underscored that discipline remains the foundation of effective policing.
He urged officers to maintain high levels of professionalism, ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping, and demonstrate courteous conduct when interacting with members of the public.
The initiative comes amid broader efforts by the police force to strengthen public trust and improve operational efficiency, particularly in communities along the East Coast where policing demands continue to evolve.
Authorities indicated that similar inspections will continue across other divisions as part of a wider push to enhance accountability and service within the force.
