According to Khan, the expansive and modern design, which includes sports facilities, cultural spaces, and areas for relaxation, provides a safe and inclusive environment where residents can connect, unwind, and thrive.
Khan further highlighted that such infrastructure plays a critical role in supporting economic and social development.
He emphasised that improved recreational amenities not only uplift the quality of life but also make Region Three more attractive for investment, tourism, and residential growth.
The R3PSInc Head also commended the strong partnership between Guyana and China, noting that initiatives like the Friendship Park reflect a shared commitment to sustainable development and people-centred progress.
He praised the high standards of construction and the focus on green, modern design, describing the facility as a “legacy project” that future generations will benefit from.
Importantly, Khan echoed calls for public responsibility, urging residents to take pride in the park, utilise it fully, and safeguard it for years to come.
He stressed that community ownership will be key to ensuring the space remains vibrant and well-maintained.
He added that the park complements the wave of development currently transforming Region Three, including new roads, housing projects, and industrial expansion, positioning the region as one of Guyana’s fastest-growing economic corridors.
Khan reaffirmed the private sector’s support for national development efforts, stating that investments like the Guyana–China Friendship Park demonstrate what can be achieved through strong leadership, strategic partnerships, and a shared vision for a better Guyana.
