THE Transport and Harbours Department (T&HD) said that an incident involving a heavily-laden truck has been resolved and an investigation is underway.

In a statement, T&HD said that at 10:45hrs on Tuesday an incident occurred while a heavily-laden truck which was transported from Parika to Bartica on board the M.V. Malali was being offloaded.

The truck was one of the 18 vehicles occupying 31 spaces aboard the vessel.

“The Transport and Harbours Department is currently conducting an investigation to prevent a reoccurrence,” the statement said, adding that the vessel was subsequently loaded to capacity with 17 vehicles, occupying 31 spaces before it departed Bartica at about 14:30hrs en route to Parika without further incident.
