The men’s team playing Afghanistan loss 4-0 as FM Anthony Drayton, Keron Sandiford and Sachin Pitamber lost their battles.
Loris Nathoo had the longest battle against Hameedullah Haidary before he went down as Guyana loss comprehensively as a unit.

The men also went down to Puerto Rico 2.5 to 1.5 points in round 8 on Thursday after FIDE master Anthony Drayton secured their only outright victory and Sachin Pitamber taking a draw.
Taffin Khan and Keron Sandiford lost their individual clashes as well.
Meanwhile in the women category, the local ladies playing Mozambique loss 3-5 to 0.5 points on Friday.
Women candidate master Jessica callender loss out to Vania Vilhete, Ciel Clements was beaten by Neusa Castro and Chineve Sandramo defeated Treskole Archibald.
Sasha Sheriff playing Katina Efentakis managed to eke out a draw to give her country half a point.
In round 8 on Thursday, Guyana Women Chess Team earn a hard fought victory against Vanatu 3-1.
Aditi Joshi and Treskole Archibald took commanding wins while women candidate masters Jessica Callender and Sasha Shariff settled for draws.
14-year-old Queen’s college student Sachin Pitamber and Aditi Joshi by virtue of their Individual performance in the Olympiad became the country’s youngest player to earn candidate master titles.
