GCA’s Pepsi 50 overs first division cricket…

THE final preliminary round game played on Sunday at the GDF Ground in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Pepsi 50 overs first division cricket tournament saw MYO booking final semi-final spot when it defeated GNIC by nine wickets.

On Sunday, MYO will clash with GCC, while DCC plays MSC in the semi-finals.

GNIC, led by 29 Extras, were bowled out for 62 in 16 overs, as only Stephon Campbell (18) and Marc Nicolson (8) passed a single.

Omesh Danram, bowling medium pace, grabbed 5-22, including a hat-trick. He got support from Sheldon Alexander, who took 3-6, and Suresh Dhanai, who had 2-22.

MYO raced to 64-1 off 5.3 overs after Andrew Lyght Jnr. had blasted 13 from nine balls with a six and four before falling to Vikash Vinoo.

Ricardo Ramdehol then joined Richard Latif, and, with a brutal assault, powered MYO to an emphatic victory, with Lafif smashing a four, and four sixes in a 23-ball 33.

Ramdehol finished unbeaten on 13 from just three balls with two sixes. (Sean Devers)
