Berbice fuel delivery : Relief expected soon as Guyoil coordinates with suppliers

Gasoline deliveries to Regions Five and Six have faced setbacks due to ongoing Berbice River Bridge repairs and mechanical issues with Guyoil’s time charter vessel, leading to temporary supply interruptions.

Guyoil in a statement on Tuesday said that the regular shipments of gasoline are expected by October 22, 2023.

In the interim, Guyoil said it has been collaborating with the other importers to alleviate the situation.

A special opening of the Demerara Harbour Bridge has been arranged to expedite the arrival of a fuel vessel for one of the other importers.

The Guyana Energy Agency has advised that while Guyoil has experienced a temporary supply shortfall, gasoline is available at other wholesalers and retailers.

Meanwhile, Guyoil will be collaborating with other suppliers to ensure relief is delivered to Regions 5 and 6 by noon on Wednesday.
