IN keeping with his company’s mission to give back to the country, Managing Director of International Import and Supplies, Joe Jagmohan, on Sunday, donated various items, including a bus and school supplies to residents of Hampton Court and surrounding communities.

Accompanied by several employees, Jagmohan handed over a brand new bus valued $3.8 million to President of the Hari Dwar Mandir at Hampton Court, Rameshwar Jaggernauth, shortly after the conclusion of a Hindu devotional gathering.

He also donated 10 drums to 10 different temples in the region and hampers to the elderly and school children. Additionally, money to purchase a fridge and freezer was handed over to Adventure Nursery and Sparta Primary School. Hampton Court Primary and Nursery were also recipients of the businessman’s generosity.

Jagmohan told this newspaper that he was born in the region and grew up in Hampton Court. He migrated to Georgetown and opened his import business at Lot 15 Garnett Street, Campbellville.

He related he always wants to the place of his birth to help residents in whatever way he can. He said the bus will be made available to all school children and the sick, regardless of their religion.

The drums will be used to enhance the drumming culture in the Hindu community.

“Hari Dwar Mandir is special to me and my mom who is deceased. A few years ago, I donated a canter and I recalled coming to this mandir as a small boy. I have fond memories here and I want to help develop this community,” Jagmohan told this publication.

He said over the years he has donated vehicles to several organisations.

“I always find pleasure in giving back. As long as I can I will. I love doing charitable work and it’s a part of me,” he added.

Meanwhile, Jaggernauth thanked the businessman for his timely donation. He said that Jagmohan has been making donations to the mandir over the years. He noted that the bus was donated at an opportune time and will be available to the entire community.

On Christmas Day, the businessman handed over a house he had constructed for a resident at Lima.
