THE driver of a pickup was admitted to the Suddie Public Hospital, on Thursday morning, shortly after he slammed into a parked car at Anna Regina.
As a result of the collision, both vehicles were partially submerged in a nearby trench.
According to reports reaching this publication, Hemant Takram, the owner of Shawn Mini Mart, sent an employee on an errand in his motor pickup GRR 8029.
The employee claimed he felt dizzy and lost control of the pickup. Shortly after, he hit motor car PXX 1437, which belongs to Masruq Kadir of Charity.
Kadir had parked his vehicle outside the Regional Democratic Council’s drainage and irrigation building where he works.
Speaking to this publication at the scene, Kadir said that he wants a “brand new” vehicle since his car was badly damaged both internally and externally.
He said that he was informed by a colleague that his vehicle was in a trench and when he checked, he found his car and a pick-up partially submerged in the water.
“The vehicle was in the trench. I was super shocked to see my car in so much water. The seats all wet, the back damaged, the mirror damaged [and] the sensor gone. My car was worth $3 million and over. I need a brand-new car,” Kadir said.
The pickup was also badly damaged.
Persons who gathered said that the driver of the pickup was rushed to the hospital shortly after the accident. This publication was later told that he is hospitalised.
Police ranks were called to the scene and are currently conducting investigations.
