Two unidentified bodies found afloat in separate incidents

TWO bodies were discovered in separate incidents on Thursday, according to police statements.
On the East Coast of Demerara (ECD), the partially decomposed body of an unidentifiable male was found floating in a trench at Montrose.

The man was reportedly lying face down and naked. Although not identified, the authorities have determined that he is of East Indian descent.
The body was examined by police ranks for marks of violence but none were found, according to the police report.

In a separate incident, an anonymous call to the Brickdam Police Station was made to report a body found floating on the eastern bank of the Demerara River in the vicinity of North Cummingsburg.

That body was also of a male and was badly decomposed. The police report indicates that the foot, head and hands were either rotted or eaten away by marine creatures.
The man was found wearing gray three-quarter pants.

Both bodies were taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, and are awaiting identification and autopsies.
