AN investigation into an alleged Trafficking in Persons (TIP) case has been launched by the police after 15 Venezuelan women were found at Club Plan B located at Stewartville Public Road, West Coast Demerara.

According to a release from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the exercise was conducted at the bar on June 25, between 01:00hrs and 03:00 hrs. During the raid, 15 foreign nationals were ‘discovered’ and interviewed.

An investigation was launched into alleged acts of trafficking in persons and three suspects were detained by the police for questioning.

“The Ministry will provide further updates as they become available and wish to further notify the public that the Guyana Police Force will continue to monitor these establishments,” the release added.
