FOLLOWING the discovery of cocaine hidden inside a religious item at DHL Headquarters, Fifth Street, Alberttown, Georgetown, a 23-year-old local TikToker, was, on Tuesday, arrested.
According to a release from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), Lisa Ramnarine of Hague, West Coast Demerara, is currently in custody and is assisting with the investigation.
On June 7, CANU officers, acting on information, went to DHL and intercepted a parcel containing a Hindu havan kund.

“Officers examined the items and discovered a hidden compartment within the kund, which was suspected to contain narcotics. Further examinations determined that a substance suspected to be cocaine was concealed within the religious item,” the release said.
The ranks managed to retrieved the sender’s information from the package, which led to the arrest of Ramnarine.
She was escorted to CANU Headquarters, where the item was dismantled in her presence, revealing the suspected narcotics which tested positive for cocaine, weighing 540 grammes.
Investigations are still ongoing.
