Alleged ‘ganja’ trafficker remanded

JULIAN Aaron called ‘Stammer’ was, on Friday, charged for allegedly having 1.26 kilograms of marijuana in his possession for the purpose of trafficking and was remanded to prison by Senior Magistrate Leron Daly.

Aaron, 48, of Guinep Lane, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown was hauled before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and denied committing the offence on Thursday, June 2, at his house.

The accused will make his second court appearance on July 8.

According to a release from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), Aaron was arrested during a raid at his house. Denese Aaron, 46, who was also at the house during the search was also arrested.

The CANU ranks allegedly found the marijuana, along with one .40mm; 100 .38; two .38 short and 27 9mm ammunition.

The accused is expected to be charged for unlawful possession of ammunition. Up to press time, Denese was still in custody at CANU headquarters.
