HOUSING and Water Minister, Collin Croal and Culture, Youth and Sports Minister, Charles Ramson, on Tuesday, engaged residents of Section A, Block Y Golden Grove, where they outlined development plans to upgrade a community ground.
The two agencies will be collaborating to upgrade the community ground which will be a model for other communities around the country.
Minister Croal said the venture was reflective of the government’s “One Guyana Vision”. He added that while the Housing Ministry was moving ahead with its housing drive, synergies were necessary for holistic development and rounded communities.
Meanwhile, Minister Ramson noted that the facility will be a state-of-the-art one and will boast a footpath, green spaces, play equipment and other amenities.
He noted that citizens and their children must have a safe space for recreational purposes and investment in overall wellbeing was key to a developing nation.
The Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport has been working with communities across the country to upgrade existing playgrounds.
Likewise, the Ministry of Housing has been giving support to several communities with similar initiatives.
