ASSURIA Insurance opened a $4M branch office at Anna Regina on Friday, affording Region Two residents more options for insurance services. The company’s ninth branch office is located at Builders Hardware store, opposite the C V Nunes Primary School.
During the launch, Managing-Director of Assuria Guyana, Yogindra Arjune, said the office provides employment for two persons and more persons will be employed as the company expands operations.
He described the opening as historic since the company is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Guyana. Assuria serves 25,000 customers and some 150 persons have already signed up in Region Two.
The company offers fire, motor, life and other types of insurance and has offices at Vreed-En-Hoop, Parika, Rosehall, Corriverton, Giftland Mall, Amazonia Mall, Linden and now at Anna Regina. Its head office is located in Georgetown.
Arjune said the company is passionate about giving back to the regions in which it has operations and presented a cheque worth $500,000 to the Mayor of Anna Regina to help beautify the town.
In December 2021, the company ended the year’s promotion by giving clients the opportunity to win one of 12 electric bikes. The company has also contributed to the Essequibo Cricket Board’s Coach Development and High Performance Clinic held recently, and 15 trophies to the Suddie Public Hospital for International Midwife Day.
Senior Minister in the Office of the President with Responsibility for Finance, Dr Ashni Singh said that the branch has opened at a time when Guyana is transforming. The demand for insurance products, he said, is expected to increase in the coming years.
“I want to congratulate you for opening of the branch, I am very glad about the health insurance, I am glad Assuria took the step,” said Dr Singh.
He also spoke about the various government investments to ensure that all economic sectors remain sustainable.
Also in attendance at the launch were Regional Chairperson, Vilma De Silva; Regional Vice- Chairman, Humace Oodit and Regional Executive Officer, Susannah Saywack.
