POLICE Constable, Faustin Magloire lost his life on Thursday evening after he crashed into a parked lorry and was instantly killed on the Mocha Access Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

The 27-year-old of Perseverance Housing Scheme, EBD, was stationed at the North Ruimveldt Police Outpost and attached to the General Duty Section.

According to Police Headquarters, motor lorry with registration GAB-8376 was stationary on the northern side of the Mocha Access Road with its lights on when hire car HC 2865, driven by Warren Olson Prince, age 30 years of Lot 73 Inner Bagotville, West Bank Demerara and motorcar PYY 9539 owned and driven by the Police Constable were involved in the accident.

Enquiries disclosed that motorcar PYY 9539 was proceeding east along the northern side of the aforementioned road at a fast rate of speed when the front portion of the car collided with the rear of the motor lorry.

Police said as a result of the collision, the motorcar ended up on the southern side of the road where it collided with the right side rear door of hire car HC 2865 which was proceeding west along the southern side of the said road.

Magloire received injuries about his body and was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the group of Emergency Medical Technicians.

The body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for storage and to await a post- mortem examination.

Commissioner of Police, Nigel Hoppie (ag) has extended condolences to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues of the late Police Constable 23012, Faustin Magloire.
