In a section of the media, it was reported that both players would have improved on their fitness tests, which made them available for selection.

According to a release by the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) on Wednesday, “this match was initially scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 12 but was rescheduled due to medical advice on COVID-19 health-related matters.”
