OVER 150 children between the ages of one and sixteen years, hailing from Maria Elizabeth/Three Friends Mine, Linden, were on Saturday last treated to a day of activities hosted by the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG).
CIOG, in collaboration with the United States Embassy’s Military Information Support Team, treated the children to a wide range of fun-related activities, including cricket and football games, and the winning teams were issued a trophy.

The children were also able to participate in face painting and they played on the trampoline, while Tigger the Tiger, who made an appearance, interacted with them and distributed sweets to everyone. Lunch was also provided and every child received a gift ranging from toys and stationery to ‘goodies bags’.
A number of entities donated to make the event possible, namely, Guyana Beverage, Caribbean International Distribution Inc., Ricks and Sari, D. Singh Trading, Clear Waters, Rahaman’s Fruits, Feroze Khan and the Maria Elizabeth/ Three Friends Mine Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC).
“Our sincere gratitude to the entire team for giving their time and effort to make the event a happy and memorable one for the kids. We pray that God Almighty richly reward all those who were involved and may he also bless all the kids with a bright and successful future,” CIOG said in a press release.
