RANKS of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), on Friday, seized 647.6 grammes of cocaine in five yellow envelopes at the Guyana Post Office Corporation in Georgetown.
According to CANU, the envelopes, which were destined for Brooklyn, New York City, each had cocaine concealed in a sealed plastic pack in between Christmas cards.
Based on CANU’s estimate, the discovered cocaine has a street value of $17,000 USD (G$3.4 million).
Further investigation into the discovery is ongoing.
