POLICE are investigating the discovery of cannabis and unlicensed firearm, along with ammunition, which were found in a house at Britton Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on Friday.

According to a police report, police ranks and officers from the North West Security Inc. received a tip-off and visited the location. Upon arrival, a male, who is known to the police, was seen running away.

The ranks proceeded to search the house during which they discovered a.38 revolver, six live rounds and 876.35 grammes of cannabis hidden in the PVC ceiling on the lower flat.
The suspected narcotics and firearm with ammunition were taken to the Sparendaam Police Station.
