GUYANA opened their CONCACAF U20 Men’s Qualifiers with a goalless draw against the Cayman Islands yesterday.
Playing in the Dominican Republic, the Qualifiers will advance the top teams to the CONCACAF U20 Championships, which serves as the gateway to the FIFA U20 World cup, as well as the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Though creating many chances, coach Wayne Dover watched from the sidelines as his players failed to find the back of the net.
Guyana would eventually play with 10 men from the 58th minute, after second-half substitute Yohance Douglas, was given a straight red for a tough challenge on his Cayman Islands counterpart.
Douglas was one of two changes made by Dover.
Guyana will play the US Virgin Islands tomorrow, followed by Nicaragua on November 11.
