SUNRISERS Hyderabad (SRH) cricketer David Warner revealed that there was no proper explanation given to him as to why he was sacked as the captain.

Adding that he has the utmost respect for the owners as well as the support staff, the Australian stated that when a decision is arrived at, it has to be done in a unanimous manner.

The left-handed batsman also added that whatever a player has accomplished in the past will surely carry some weight going into the future as well.
“With the utmost respect for the owners, Trevor Baylis, Laxman, Moody and Murali, when a decision gets made, it has to be a unanimous one. You don’t know who is the person going for you and who isn’t.

The other disappointing thing for me was not being told why I was dropped as captain. If you want to go along the lines of form, it is a difficult one because I guess whatever you have done in the past would have some weight moving forward, you would think,” said David Warner to Sports Today.

David Warner also stated that he has played over 100 IPL matches for the ‘Orange Army’, and only experienced four bad outings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in IPL 2021. Adding that the way he was treated is a difficult pill for him to swallow, Warner concluded by stating that he would love to once again represent the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side going forward as well.

“Especially when you have played about 100 games for the franchise, I think I had four bad games in those first five matches in Chennai. It is difficult, a tough pill to swallow. There are still questions to which I think I’ll never get answers, but you have to move on. I would love nothing more than to represent SRH but obviously, that decision is with the owners,” concluded David Warner.

David Warner has played 150 matches in IPL cricket and has scored 5 449 runs at an average of 41.60 and a strike rate of 139.97.
