Women robbed by motorcycle bandits in Austin Street

TWO motorcycle bandits, on Friday evening, robbed two women at gunpoint as they were walking home in Austin Street, Campbellville, Georgetown.

The two women, 58 and 63 years old, were robbed of two handbags and cash, a total value of $45,000. A police report noted that the victims were walking north along Austin Street, Campbellville, going home, when the suspects approached from the northern direction and stopped in front of them.

The pillion rider dismounted and pointed the handgun at the victims and said, “don’t say a word, give me de bags.”

The bandits then relieved the victims of the articles mentioned and escaped east along the Railway Line. Police said no shots were fired.
