THE body of a male of East Indian descent, whose name, age and address were unknown up to press time, was fished out of a koker at Maria’s Pleasure, Wakenaam, Region Three ( Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) on Wednesday morning.
According to police reports, a resident of Wakenaam, who went to the Maria’s Pleasure koker, observed a human head floating in the water and immediately raised an alarm which caused a crowd to gather
Soon after, ‘cops’ at the San Souci Police Station were summoned to the scene and the body, clad in brown short pants, was fished out and examined but no mark of violence was found on it.
The body was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital where it was seen and examined by a doctor on duty who pronounced it dead on arrival. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
