Man found dead in alleyway

THE body of a 32-year-old Venezuelan manl who resided at Lot 5 North Road, Bourda, Georgetown, was found in an alleyway behind the Sleepin Hotel, Church Street, Georgetown, on Sunday morning. According to Police Headquarters, a female associate of the deceased reported that around 00:30hrs on Sunday, the Venezuelan, who was a hot dog vendor, told her that he was going to a party at the Rio Club, Forshaw Street, Queenstown and he left walking. At 06:00hrs a maintenance worker at Sleepin Hotel, while on duty discovered the body of the deceased lying in the said alleyway which is usually utilised by the management of Sleepin to pack garbage. The body was examined and what appeared to be wounds were seen to his head along with bruises on his knees, right hand and his left shoulder. The body was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was declared dead and was escorted to Sandy’s Funeral Home where it awaits a post- mortem. The police reported that an investigation is underway.
