GUYANESE sides, Richmond Hill Liberty and Everest/ACS, continued their unbeaten run with their eighth consecutive victories each over the weekend in the New York National Cricket League (NYNCL) 30-over Saturday tournament.
Liberty are on 16 points, to lead Group A and Everest on 16 points, to lead Group B.
In their latest win, Everest/ACS surged to a 10-wicket victory against Colombia Cricket Club after former Demerara cricketer, Wasim Haslim, blasted a century.
Colombia batted first at Drew Park, but struggled to put the ball away. Prashanth Masheshwar led the attack with 36 (3X4s, 2X6s) from 37 balls.
Karan Sharma added 20 from 41 balls and Navam Shah 12 from 37 balls. In the end, the side struggled to reach 124-7 from 30 overs.
Haslim did the damage to the middle order to pick up 2-15 from five overs, while Gavin Singh grabbed 2-22 in six overs.
In his turn in the middle, Haslim exploded with the bat. He belted an unbeaten 100 off just 34 balls at a spanking strike rate of 294.12. In total, he struck seven fours and 10 sixes.

Haslim’s opening partner Freddy Pestano, added 25 runs (2X4s, 1X6) from 15 balls, as Everest/ACS rolled over the target in eight overs.
At Baisley Pond, former Berbice all-rounder, Terrence Madramootoo, produced an all-round effort to lead Liberty to a five-wicket victory in a low-scoring clash against Pak Tigers CC.
Tigers won the toss and batted. Yasir Mushtaq (41 from 20 balls 4X4s, 3X6s) and Farhan Ellahi (35 from 39 balls 1X4, 3X6s) played a few shots early, but Madramootoo dismissed the former, while the latter was bowled and caught by Michael Sultan.
After that, Liberty took control to restrict their opponents for 131 in 29 overs.
Sultan finished with 2-38 from six overs, Dion Choo-wee-nam 2-11 from six overs and Madramootoo 1-17 from six overs.
Liberty looked in trouble early after losing seasoned openers Choo-wee-nam (1) and Azeemuddin Khan (8), but Troy Mars (23 from 21 balls), Altaaf Habibulla (29 from 31 balls) and Madramootoo (31 from 16 balls), brought the side back.
Keron Sewnarine ensured that Liberty reached the target with 19 unbeaten runs from 16 balls at the end, which propelled them to 132-5 from 17 overs.
