A 32-year-old housewife, who police say was a known alcoholic in the Minad Village of Matthews Ridge, North West District (NWD), was found dead, on Friday, in her house.

Dead is Jacqueline Gounga. Police said that, based on investigations, the woman, on June 8, 2021, around 14:00 hrs, was at a rum shop in Minad drinking high wine.

Subsequently, she fell ill on Thursday last about 22:00hrs and went to bed. The following day, about 08:00hrs, her relatives observed she was motionless, and so, they made a report at the Matthew’s Ridge Police Station.

Ranks visited the scene and did not observe any marks of violence on the body. She was officially pronounced dead at the Pakera District Hospital.
