KEVIN Ambrose, on Friday, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, on a robbery under arms charge and was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
He denied that on May 24, 2021, at Boulevard, Albouystown, Georgetown, while being in company of another and armed with a gun, he robbed Onika Thompson of one black Samsung S5 cellular phone valued at $40,000, one black haversack valued at $2500, $10,000 cash and a silver Movado watch valued at $40,000.
According to the prosecution, Ambrose and Thompson are known to each other for about a year. At about 00:00 hrs on the date mentioned in the particulars of the charge, Thompson was walking on Independence Boulevard, Albouystown, when Ambrose and his accomplice allegedly confronted her.
Ambrose’s accomplice, allegedly pointed a gun at Thompson’s chest while Ambrose relieved her of her valuables. They them made good their escape on foot.
Ambrose was arrested on June 8, 2021 and subsequently charged.
The matter was adjourned until June 18, 2021.
