AVERY Trim has retained the top position as president of Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) while Joseph Chapman also was returned as General Secretary when the MSC Annual General Meeting and Biennial Elections were held last Sunday afternoon at the MSC Lounge.

In his address to the members Trim said: “I am indeed happy to be re-elected as president of this organisation and I want to assure you gentlemen and ladies that I am going to be president of the membership of this organisation and the community at large and further afield like our members in the diaspora.”

He continued, “I know that my ears in the diaspora have been pushing to see development works at the MSC. With this team around I know we can do a lot, brainstorm ideas and work together.”

The MSC has been identified as one of three venues to be a multipurpose facility in Guyana by the Government of Guyana.
Meanwhile, Trim defeated Norris King while Chapman fended off the challenge of Marlon Pearson to be re-elected.

King was unopposed as he won the post of first vice-president but Rawle Toney had to overcome the challenge of Robert Langevine to be elected the second vice-president. Keith Semple staved off Ms Judy Gravesande and Ms Coretta Braithwaite to be elected to serve as the third vice-president.

For the position of General Secretary, Joseph Chapman won against Marlon Pearson while the Assistant General Secretary position went to Ms Coretta Braithwaite-Walton who defeated Ms Judy Gravesande-Noel and Mr Floyd Martindale.

The new treasurer is Mr Derron John who was elected unopposed as was the assistant treasurer John Trim who previously served as a committee member.

Ms Judy Gravesande-Noel was voted to serve as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) ahead of Jeffrey Trotman and Floyd Martindale.

Four committee members were also elected. They are Audwin Rutherford, Robert Langevine, Compton London and Troy Roberts.
