TROY Resources Guyana Inc., an Australian-owned mining company, in partnership with the Ministry of Health hosted a three-day vaccination drive at the company’s site in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni). The company facilitated accommodations, access to their medical centre and transportation to the project site and nearby communities, to ensure that the employees of the company and residents of remote communities have easy and equal access to the vaccines.

During the activities, some 23 residents of Kaburi Village were vaccinated, 19 with their first dose and four with their second. At 14 Mile landing, eight persons were given their first dose of the vaccine. Over at the company’s site, 91 employees were vaccinated.
The company expects that when it’s time for the second dose more people will come forward to be vaccinated, as they will continue their project to raise awareness about COVID-19.
Through this initiative, flyers and brochures will be distributed at the project site and in surrounding communities, and masks and sanitisers will be donated.
Troy Resources Inc., in a statement, said it will continue to promote health and safety education, and urged everyone to get vaccinated and stay safe.
