BRADLEY Fredericks was returned unopposed to head the Upper Demerara Cricket Association (UDCA) on Friday when the annual general meeting and elections were held at the Old England Sports Club Pavilion in the Mines on the outskirts of Linden.
Fredericks retained the position of president with Andrew Forsythe being elected unopposed as Vice President. The Secretary is Mr. Aubrey Douglas while the Assistant Secretary is Ms. Pheona Ali John with Mr. Clayton Van Hersel elected as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer is Ms. Annette Rambharrat while Ms. Jacquey Bourne was reelected unopposed as the Public Relations Officer. The Returning Officer was Compton Fraser JP
Nine of the twelve affiliated clubs of the UDCA attended that meeting, namely West Watooka, Royal Champions, Christianburg, Ituni, Muritaro, Yararibo, Three Fri8ends, Spieghtland and Coomacka.
Meanwhile, the UDCA executive will meet on Saturday at a venue to be named where the committees and their chairpersons will be appointed for the Finance, Cricket Development and Competitions.
Fredericks thanked all clubs who stayed and supported the UDCA during the long battle which affected the staging of tournaments saying now it is time to get cricket rolling, “We have won all court battles and cricket will now be better in region Ten, grounds will be fixed.”
