Woman accused of chopping man gets $25,000 bail

SHARON Allen, who was arrested and charged for chopping a man about his body, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, on Friday, and was granted $25,000 bail by Magistrate Leron Daly. Allen of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, denied that on April 15, 2021, at Guyhoc Park, she unlawfully and maliciously wounded Denzel Sobers. According to the prosecution, Allen and Sobers have been residing in the same street for about eight years and were known to each other. On the day of the alleged incident, they had an altercation during which, Allen dealt Sobers several chops with a cutlass. Sobers was escorted to the North East La Penitence Health Centre where he was treated and sent away. Allen was later arrested and charged.

The matter was adjourned until June 4, 2021.
