mother, Tricia Atkinson. Guyana Chronicle understands that the infant’s father, Troy Williams, was released from police custody sometime after the autopsy was conducted. The man was arrested after the child’s mysterious death. She was found dead by her mother during the wee hours of Sunday. The child was pinned by her father’s leg. It is believed that the father went to bed in an intoxicated state. Meanwhile, assistance was extended to the family by Region Two Commander, Superintendent Crystal Robinson, after the young mother reached out to her. Due to the family’s impoverished state, the Guyana Police Force will assist the family with the burial of the child. A hamper along with cash was also handed over to the mother. Commander Robinson said that she was made aware of the family’s financial situation when the young mother contacted her. She said officers from the division and Cops and Faith were willing to help.
