THE recently rebranded Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Guyana Police Force (GPF), on Tuesday, commenced its countrywide familiarisation programme with the first visit to Regional Division Number Five.
The CCU team comprised Director Mark Ramotar, Deputy Stan Gouveia and Communications Officer, Lance Corporal, Simeon Browne.
Commander, Senior Superintendent Kurleigh Simon, and his senior officers of the division facilitated a very candid session.
The discussion explored the CCU’s vision and the requisite support to ensure its success and received unconditional support from the senior officers.
The officers spoke about the various programmes and initiatives in the regional division and their operations to reduce crime.
From the discussion, training and strengthening of relations between the media liaisons of the division the head office was recommended. A request was also made for training in public speaking and media relations for officers in the division.
The CCU team looked at the recommendations favourably.
