POLICE have arrested four persons following a cordon and search operation early Saturday in connection with the illegal possession of cannabis, stolen motorcycles and armed robbery.

Police Headquarters, in a statement, noted that searches were carried out in Guyhoc Park; A, B, C, D, E and Plum Park Sophia; Prashad Nagar; Gordon Street, Kitty; Alexander Street, Kitty; William Street, Kitty; Alberttown; Bourda and Stabroek markets; Tiger Bay and Leopold Street.
Additionally, several mechanic shops, suspected drug houses, houses, motorists and pedestrians were searched and resulted in the arrest of four persons: a 28-year-old construction worker of Guyhoc Park for being in possession of 105 grams of cannabis at Plum Park Sophia; a 40 year-old broker of ‘A’ Field Sophia for the possession of five grams of cannabis; a 28 year-old mechanic of Tucville for the unlawful possession of motorcycles; a 24-year-old unemployed male of ‘C’ Field Sophia Squatting Area, in connection with armed robbery.
Eight motorcycles, including an XR, Trip, and Honjue were seized while 92 grams of cannabis was found abandoned at the Stabroek Market.
