Mason fined $100,000 for ‘break and enter’

A 33-year-old mason was, on Thursday, fined $100,000 by Leonora Magistrate Zamilla Ali-Seepaul, after he confessed to a break and enter with larceny charge.
Seechand Persaud of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, appeared before the Leonora Magistrate Court and admitted that, between January 12-14, 2021 at Tuschen, New Scheme, East Bank Essequibo, he broke into the dwelling house of Romel Amsterdam and stole a quantity of items.
Magistrate Ali-Seepaul ordered Persaud to pay a fine of $100,000.00 or serve two months’ imprisonment.
