A MAN, who allegedly chopped his brother in his head during an argument over a purse, was, on Tuesday, placed on $20,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan when he made an appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. Delmar Booker of Jackson Dam, La Penitence, pleaded not guilty to the wounding charge when it was read to him. It is alleged that he, on January 21, at Jackson Dam, La Penitence, Georgetown, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Isaiah Booker. The brothers share the same building but reside in separate apartments. According to the case before the court, on the day in question, a misunderstanding emerged between the two about a purse Isaiah Booker had. Delmar Booker took back the purse and in rage, broke down the door of his brother’s apartment while he was inside. Delmar entered Isaiah’s apartment and a scuffle ensued between the two. With a cutlass, Delmar dealt Isaiah a chop to his head. The matter was reported and Delmar was arrested and charged for the offence committed. The matter was adjourned until March 5, 2020.
